Meet the Wild Ones Behind the Scenes!

Welcome to Ecology Amateurs, where we’re all about celebrating the wild world around us, no PhD required! We’re just a couple of nature nerds with a passion for life on Earth, armed with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a weird sense of humor. Our goal is simple: make ecology fun and accessible for everyone, from the curious beginner to the seasoned wildlife enthusiast.

So, who are we? We’re Kam and Jack, two folks who love getting lost in the woods and finding the most incredible creatures along the way. Kam’s a wildlife lover who’s spent years diving into reptiles, amphibians, and critters of all kinds. Jack, on the other hand, has always had their eye on the bigger picture: ecosystems, nature’s balance, and how everything fits together like a giant puzzle. Together, we create informative and fun content because nature is best enjoyed with a side of laughter.

At Ecology Amateurs, we believe there’s no such thing as a silly question about the natural world. Whether we’re out hiking or Googling how to build the perfect bird feeder (it’s more complicated than it sounds), we’re always learning and sharing our discoveries. We know we’re not experts (and we’re totally cool with that), but we’re excited to share our adventures and mistakes. The best way to learn about nature is to dive in, make mistakes, and laugh along the way.

Join us on this wild ride through blogs, social media, and eventually a podcast, where we’ll explore everything from animal behavior to conservation, ecosystems to oddball species. No topic is too big or small, and we’re all about making it fun and entertaining. We know the natural world can feel overwhelming at times, but we’re here to break it down and get you excited about what’s out there waiting to be discovered. Because here at Ecology Amateurs, it’s not about being the smartest in the room, it’s about having the most fun exploring it!

Say hello to the wild ones!

We understand that the natural world can sometimes feel overwhelming (there’s so much out there!), but we’re here to simplify it, highlight the fascinating aspects, and inspire your enthusiasm for what awaits discovery.
